Abstract

Purpose: This study aims at understanding the structure of the conquest experience of families of patients at Sup Ri Ga Jung and hopes to contribute to the rehabilitation process of those with chronic mental disorder.

Method: This study was based upon Parse¡¯s Human Becoming Research Methodology.

Results: a) Hopelessness: a feeling of being unable to understanding violent behavior; b) Psychotic loneliness due to social stigmatization. c) Feeling of guilt from not being able to fulfill family obligations. d) Hope for recovery in terms of family and daily life. e) Maintenance of positive energy by understanding chronic schizophrenic symptom and psychosis f) Hope of rehabilitation by sharing daily life with others.

Conclusion: Family of patients at Sup Ri Ga Jung exhibited a number of responses to their relatives¡¯ hospitalization, ranging from extremely dysfunctional to positive.
